Johan Lee from Middelburg - After seeing the video footage of you savagely beating your dog with a pick ax handle I am disgusted at the pathetic sentence handed out by the courts in Middelburg.
Of the R3,000 fine - R2,000 was suspended - My what a hardship you will have to endure!
Prison - 30 days - again suspended for 2 years. My that will give you sleepless nights - you poor thing!
40 hours community service at the dog unit - is just a joke!!!!
If a man can do that to his own dog - what is he capable of doing to a child or even his wife?
It is about time that the courts started to take animal abuse far more seriously. Research has indicated that there are direct links to animal abuse and other serious crimes especially psychological problems - most serial killer start off by abusing and mutilating animals!
If the courts stating handing out appropriate sentences - it might act as more of a deterrent!
We the public need to make more noise!!!
The law does provide for far stiffer sentences. I would like to know who is not doing their job!!!
